Confirmation

confirmationFBConfirmation:
Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation." The sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. It imprints on the soul an indelible spiritual mark, the "character," which is the sign that Jesus Christ has marked a Christian with the seal of the Spirit by clothing him/her with power from on high so that he/she may be Jesus' witness.

Who can receive this sacrament? Every baptized person not yet confirmed can and should receive the sacrament of Confirmation at "the age of discretion" as determined by the Catholic Church. Students in 7th and 8th Grade may prepare for this sacrament in our Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) here:

Godparent/Sponsorship Qualifications Before choosing a Godparent or Sponsor, consider whether the person can actually perform the job, which requires (at a minimum) a baptized Catholic adult who is actively practicing the faith.  A godparent/sponsor is supposed to pray for and support by word and example the Catholic formation of this child. Beginning September 1, 2016, the parish office will be checking the Mass attendance of registered parishioners who request to be a godparent or sponsor.
