Welcome to our Parish Religious Education Program. As your child continues on their personal faith journey, it is our pleasure and privilege to assist them as they discover the wonder and awe of God, the Almighty.
Our program uses a multi sensory approach to help your child develop and understand their personal blessings and the wonderful gifts from God they have been given.
We offer a safe, comfortable, positive learning environment to nourish your child’s relationship with the Master Teacher, Jesus.
Our program is Christ centered with a concentration on learning age appropriate prayers. All students attend a children’s liturgy during the year as well as a reconciliation service.
Our first graders are introduced to their faith in prayer, songs and activities. They enjoy taking a tour of the church as they get to see all of the vessels and vestments used during the mass first hand.
It is an important year for the second graders as they receive the Holy Sacrament of First Reconciliation during the Advent season and prepare to receive their First Holy Communion in the spring.
Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade
Our third, fourth and fifth graders concentrate learning about the teachings of the Church.
Each Unit is divided into four main themes of What Catholics Believe, How Catholics Worship, How Catholics Live and How Catholics Pray.
Students are encouraged to generate discussions on how these themes affect their everyday lives and families.
Our sixth graders begin their preparations for Confirmation by receiving a Bible from the Parish and concentrate their studies on the Word of God in the Old Testament.
Our seventh graders continue their Confirmation preparations with focus on the Holy Spirit and service to the community.
All sponsors and families are encouraged to support each candidate spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
Workshops are interspersed throughout the year to give students the chance to work together to get hands on experience.
In the spring of their eighth grade, the candidates for Confirmation attend weekly speaker sessions as part of their final preparation.
The candidates participate in a full day retreat where we combine spirituality with enjoyable activities.
The celebration of the Holy Sacrament of Confirmation seals each of them with the Holy Spirit, making them active, adult members of the church.
We are extremely fortunate and grateful to have many parishioners who volunteer their time and talents to the Religious Education Program.
This program would not be possible without their dedication and service to the parish.
Our main objective is for your child to experience all of God’s wonder by realizing religion is not just taught, but caught. May God continue to bless the families of Our Lady of Perpetual Help with his Grace, kindness and love.
