What is the Alumni Committee?

We are a group of ambassadors for the school that help to identify and review the school’s mission, plan programs for the future, determine how to reach goals, and build the human and financial resources necessary to reach those goals.

What has the O.L.P.H. Alumni Committee been doing?

Our first mission has been to gather information on our Alumni. We would like to build our database. This task has been a challenge. Over the last 76 years, O.L.P.H. School has graduated over 3000 students. We have all of our graduates’ names, but few home and email addresses. We need your help!!! We want to hear from our alumni!!! Let us hear from you regarding a new job, professional or educational achievements, awards, honors, marriage, a new baby, or just any good news you wish to share with your fellow alumni.

If you know a former graduate of O.L.P.H., ask them to go to the parish website at www.olphparish.com and register as an alumnus. This is also a great place to see upcoming events in the parish and the school. You can read the minutes from our alumni committee meetings and see any upcoming alumni sponsored events.

The Alumni Committee was also present for our school’s two open houses that were held in January and March of this year. We had over 50 alumni attend each open house to see our great school and reminisce about their wonderful experiences.

What types of things are we working on for the future?

We have many plans for the future! Here are some ideas the committee has been working on:

• Testimonials from alumni on our website. We want to hear the wonderful things you have to say about our school.

• We want to get our young alumni involved by asking them to join our committee and sharing their energetic ideas. This is a great way to achieve community service points and volunteering looks great on a college application.

• Gatherings to welcome new families to our school. We want each family to know that they made the right decision by choosing O.L.P.H.

• We are in the process of planning an Alumni Oldies night. The date has tentatively been set for Saturday, November 4, 2006 .

We need you!

If you want to meet some fellow alumni and enjoy a little socializing, consider joining us for our next meeting. We will be taking a break over the summer, but be sure to check the parish website in early September for our next scheduled meeting date.
